Here at AKJOY Church we want to help equip you as parents to be the primary Spiritual Leader in your home. Each month we offer some ideas for a fun family night for you and your tribe - enjoy!
Start a New Tradition...
Our lives are crazy busy. It's way too easy to allow the stuff of life to take over and crowd out family time. We encourage families to go against the flow and make a conscious decision to set aside a time at least once a month to have a family night. Time to have a meal together, play together, create together, and learn together as a family. The rewards will amaze you! Each month we will post a recipe, a game/activity, a craft, a devotional, and a project of some sort to give you some ideas to get your started on your new adventure. Post pics of your family night on Facebook and tag AKJOY Church. We'd love to share your adventures!
Ranch Chicken and Potatoes
Four boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 potatoes cubed
2 Cups ranch style dressing
Spray the inside of the crockpot with cooking spray. Put the chicken on the bottom add the potatoes and then pour the dressing over top. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours. Longer if you like softer potatoes and less if you like firmer potatoes.
Teacher and Lord
Key Verse:John 13:13 NIRV “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You are right. That is what I am.”
Key Point:Jesus’ disciples call Him Teacher and Lord. When we learn about Jesus or from Him, He is our Teacher. When we choose to follow Him and make Him the most important one in our life, He is our Lord.

For this craft you will need:
Markers - optional
glue or tape
G Cut out an apple shape and a cross shape from the construction paper and glue or tape them to popsicles sticks. You can use markers to decorate them if you wish.
July's activity goes along with the devotional. The instructions are in the PDF in the devotional section. You can use the apple and cross you made for the craft instead of a bead or eraser.
July's Science Project
This month we're doing a fun experiment with baking soda and vinegar. For this experiment you will need several narrow glasses, glass vases or test tubes, baking soda, food coloring, water, vinegar, and dish soap.
Hang onto your hats because this is a fun, colorful, very messy activity. Click here to get the directions.
